Rise From Your Grave
What happened? Are we lost? Did we die? Not really, but yeah… Also, we are lazy and shy, and aren’t good at being up to date news dudez. But a lot is going down, so here’s the scoop:
First off, Elder Schoolhouse. It’s a 12 inch 5 song EP we recorded with Rick White at his home studio last spring. It is lively and bright and was really fun to make. This is a vinyl only release in a limited run of 400. There’s no plans for a CD or MP3 version, but here’s a track to keep you company: Synastry.mp3 . You can pre-order the record here: www.divorcerecords.ca. You can also check out this video of “Neighbour” and “Sleeping Waiting” we did at the same time to give you an idea.
We took a bunch of time off but now we’re back and ready to make jam. We have some shows coming up at Pop Montreal, Halifax Pop Explosion and then a Canadian tour early November. As some of you might know, KC has left the band. It’s not on bad terms, he just wants to focus more on playing guitar and singing and less on the drums. He was an excellent beater, collaborator and friend and he will be missed to the limit. Keep an eye out for his new gig Bad Vibrations. They will go on to do great things.
So that said, we’re really happy to announce the distinguished gentleman, Rob Shedden (Beat Material, Got To Get Got), will be taking over duties of the traps. He’s a real swell guy and has chops to match. Our first show as the new crew will be next week at Pop Montreal and we’re stoked to move muscles again. So come and meet up with us.
What else… We have a new house. Thanks to the steady mind of Hello Daylight, we have this new site that works and is easier for us to update. We put in a discography section that also has related albums that we will keep adding to. I just put up a record of older demos and b-sides called New Problems that is only really available through download. Check it out at Zunior if you’re feeling it.
There’s some other stuff too but I can’t remember it right now… Alright.. Peace be with you. Thanks to all the people that have been saying nice things about Concentration. We appreciate it.
Take care,
Seth
Nice new digs! Super-psyched for the new EP… really didn’t see that one coming…
Be sure to swing through Toronto again in November!
